Job Summary:

The BHECN Programs Manager will provide overall management, coordination, and oversight of BHECN's core programs including the Lifelong Learning Fund, Graduate Trainee Stipend Program, and Mentoring Program, among others.

This position ensures program alignment with BHECN's mission to grow and sustain the behavioral health workforce in Nebraska by supporting recruitment, training, education, and retention initiatives.

The Programs Manager will supervise the BHECN Programs Coordinator, who assists with the administrative functions of these programs.

The Programs Manager will collaborate closely with BHECN leadership, community partners, academic institutions, and other stakeholders to ensure high-quality, accessible programming statewide.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree

Bachelor's degree in Social Science, Behavioral Sciences, Public Health, Education, Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, or related field.


3 years

Experience in program coordination, community outreach, education/ training, or workforce development.


Will consider additional related post high school education in lieu of required experience.


  • Ability to plan, coordinate, and implement multi-faceted projects; supervise staff; communicate effectively in writing and orally; collaborate with diverse partners; manage timelines and deliverables.
  • Ability to learn and use data collection/ management platforms

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree
  • Master's degree in Social/Behavioral Sciences, Public Health, Public Administration, Education, or related field.

  • Experience building and sustaining educational programs that cater to diverse populations within the community, ideally relating to education or workforce development.

  • Experience in managing education or workforce development programs.
  • Experience working with diverse and rural communities. Experience with program data tracking and reporting. Bilingual or multilingual.
