Description

This role is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with local businesses and industry partners to identify workforce needs and connect them with relevant non-credit training and registered apprenticeship opportunities. The position involves developing, marketing, and evaluating non-credit trades programs such as HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical, as well as establishing and managing Department of Labor (DOL) registered apprenticeship programs. Additional responsibilities include promoting these programs to various stakeholders, creating marketing materials, and participating in outreach and informational events.

Job Duties

  • Demonstrate IWCCâ??s core mission, vision and values
  • Develop strong partnerships with area businesses and industry partners
  • Meet regularly with local businesses to understand workforce and talent needs 
  • Connect employers with IWCC non-credit and customized training options and possible funding sources when applicable.  
  • Develop, implement, market, and evaluate non-credit trades courses including HVAC, Plumbing and Electrical programs
  • Develop Department of Labor (DOL) recognized registered apprenticeship programs with area business and industry partners
  • Work with Department of Labor (DOL) to register apprenticeship programs and use DOL database to manage and track programs and participants
  • Promote non-credit trades and registered apprenticeship opportunities to students, faculty and staff, as well as industry and community partners
  • Participate in presentations and meetings to develop, promote or share trades and registered apprenticeship opportunities
  • Create and distribute promotional materials including flyers, brochures and presentations
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or higher is required; Or completion of a Department of Labor (DOL) registered apprenticeship program
  • Understanding of registered apprenticeships is preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to articulate in both small and large group settings and with diverse groups of people including co-workers, students, business contacts and at various levels from front-line to administration
  • Strong organizational skills including the ability to multi-task, to meet deadlines, to maintain and access paper and electronic files, to produce error-free final products, and to manage time and output
  • Excellent customer service skills required 
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience using software such as Salesforce (or other CRM), RAPIDS is preferred
  • Office skills such as budget monitoring, invoice development and tracking, and data tracking
  • Public speaking experience or experience developing presentations
  • Enthusiastic and dedicated to the challenges of helping other people
  • Ability to function collaboratively as part of a fast-paced, customer-oriented team
  • Professional in communications, appearance, relationships, and responsiveness
  • Positive attitude
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all times
  • Self-starter with the ability to perform with little or no direct supervision
  • Regular, prompt & reliable attendance
  • Ability to pass a background check, have a valid U.S. driverâ??s license and good driving record
