This full-time position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Phoenix Health Sciences Anatomy Lab which supports the curriculums of each health sciences programs located in Phoenix. This position will work directly with anatomy faculty to ensure curriculum success. This position will be expected to consistently interact and communicate with health science students, faculty and outside organizations dealing with cadaver acquisition and cremation.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to budgetary processes; managing and maintaining the physical lab space; acquisition, inventory and maintenance of donor specimens; proper handling of chemicals, surgical and lab equipment, and donor (cadavers) within the lab. This position, under the supervision of simulation operations management, will ensure the laboratory is properly supplied and that all participants follow laboratory procedures, adhering to building and program policies, best practices, and all safety measures.
This position will supervise lab technicians.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, throughout the day.
Qualifications
â?¢ Associate degree in biological science and 2 yearsâ?? experience with biological labs and/or any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.
â?¢ Administrative or office management experience managing teams and/or leading projects
â?¢ Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication (written and verbal) skills.
â?¢ Strong empathy skills.
â?¢ Dependability and maturity.
â?¢ Adheres to privacy standards and handles confidential information with professionalism.
Preferred Qualifications
â?¢ Bachelorâ??s Degree preferred
â?¢ 3 yearsâ?? experience with anatomy laboratories and cadavers.

â?¢ Ability to work with human cadavers and working with donating families; Strong empathy and skills
â?¢ Knowledge of biological laboratories practices and safety
â?¢ Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments;
â?¢ Strong interpersonal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community;
â?¢ Ability to lead and train staff and/or students;
â?¢ Knowledge of finance, accounting, and budgeting procedures;
â?¢ Efficient and accurate record keeping skills; including ability to manage an electronic data base
â?¢ Basic computer skills are required, including Microsoft Excel and Word for record keeping, documentation and communication. Ability to trouble shooting technology issues or maintenance would be desirable.
â?¢ Maintain confidentiality and discretion when communicating with donorâ??s family members
â?¢ Ability to function effectively as a team member, while exercising independent and critical judgment;
â?¢ Ability to self-initiate and coordinate/prioritize work with multiple and conflicting demands in a deadline-oriented environment;
